Safety Inspections
We employ outside safety consultants (The Assurance
Agency) to conduct four to six job site inspections each month.
We also have safety inspections conducted by our insurance company
and by our president, Frank Amabile; our safety director, Rick Jansen;
and our chief financial officer, Kevin O’Shea. We hit every
job with an inspection at least once a quarter. Jobs are rated on
a scale of 1 to 100, and we consider it to be a failure to receive
any score but 100.
When
we are faced with a new situation about doing a job safely, we bring
in our outside consultants, confer with our insurance company’s
risk-management department, or consult with the Chicagoland Construction
Safety Council. No employee is ever put in a situation in which
the owners of the company wouldn't put themselves first.
We
believe safety is a very important part of every job, and employees
should not receive extra compensation for doing their job properly.
We do, however, reward employees who consistently receive a score
of 100 on their inspections.
We
have received letters of commendation from customers praising us
for our safety program.
